Reminiscing Our Wedding

New year makes you plan ahead, new year also makes you look back, when you look back you want to remember the things that makes you happy the most. One of the memorable occasion in a married woman is her wedding. I have a happy wedding so maybe I will write it in my blog, because blogging is one thing I do almost everyday so I can also see my wedding memories in this blog.

Philippine Star June 5, 2005

Our venue was in Greenmeadows Clubhouse and it was catered by Robert Camba Catering. The venue was full packed, it can accommodate up to 300 guests and we initially have 275 on our list and the guests were more than 300. The wedding turned into a fiesta and I am happy that everyone enjoyed themselves.

Mimi and Karl was our photographers. Imagine, way back in 2005 our package only costs 28,000!!! They won the recent 2007 W@w Supplier of the Year Award. Congrats to Mimi and Karl, After two years, I’m sure they have improved on their skills, built more satisfied customers, upgraded their equipment and enhanced their styles. After seeing their photographs now, we never failed to wonder and joke, “practice lang ata yung sa amin”.

My bouquet was prepared by Angelic Blooms. I was not able to preserve my flowers. sayang, keep it in memory na lang. I think Angelic Blooms has closed, it is nowhere to be found in wedding directories or they changed their name.

Our makeup artists was Eddie Bruan and staff, well, I was not an Eddie Bruan bride though much to my regret, never mind this is one area of my wedding that I do not want to discuss.

Amelia – Amel’s Realm – This is a list of my New Year’s Resolution:
1. Health: Continue exercising twice a week, eat enough veggies and fruit, have enough rest, take vitamin C regularly and women’s multivitamin during my period.
2. Spiritual: Improve my Daily Bread reading routine and my prayer life and learn more from God’s Word.
3. Financial: Continue to make money online (my goal is getting €100 per month at least), be more creative in writing posts, and save most of the money.
4. General Life: Continue to learn Finnish AND practice it as best and often as I can, try out more baking and cooking recipes, continue to maintain and share positive thoughts, continue to learn to control my thoughts, continue to learn to catch myself before I start complaining and count my blessings instead, continue to stop and cherish all the little moments in life that oftentimes go unnoticed, and continue to feed my inner child and last but not least, continue to ENJOY my life thoroughly.

Max – MAX – My New Year’s resolutions are to dedicate more time to my friends; to finally be able to read “Der Spiegel” in German; to be calm when organizing my marriage; to go one last time to my favourite club and dance the night away; and continue to be happy!

Resto Review: House of Minis at Ugong, Pasig

First time I ate here at this branch was three years ago on Valentine’s Day with Irwin. We ordered steak and I was not impressed with the service and the table linens were soiled. Yesterday, my family and I went here because they want to try the food, we were thinking of eating at San Jacinto but choose this instead. The same building, the same structure, nothing was changed. The linens are still green and maroon and soiled. Some have cigarette burns in the table linens.

So we ordered Fillet Mignon, Tenderloin Tips, Grilled Porkchop with apple sauce, Beef Spare Ribs, Chicken Barbeque and Hawaiian Style Porkchop. All the orders includes soup of the day, dinner rolls, salad and dessert. Each order cost around Php 205.00 to Php 290.00.

By the way, we even saw Amy Perez at a nearby table, I wonder if they also ordered steak and if the cook will cook it differently if you are a celebrity???

I originally ordered the Hawaiian Style Porkchop and my brother ordered the Hawaiian Ham Steak, I changed my order to Beef Spareribs but the waiter failed to change my order and still ordered the Hawaiian Style Porkchop, Well, I guess it was also my fault because I was not listening when he tried to change my order and also his fault because he took for granted our orders, he got confused with the orders and failed to repeat our orders.

DO NOT order the Hawaiian Style Porkchop, it is full of ketchup on top of grilled porkchops. The Fillet Mignon and Tenderloin Tips tastes the same, the Beef Spareribs that I ordered has half beef fat and we take it out so our dogs can enjoy eating it. My sister ordered the Tenderloin Tips, I do not like the Beef Spareribs so we switched food, I also do not like the Tenderloin Tips but I like the fried potato that goes with it.

I enjoyed eating the soup and dinner rolls though, maybe I was not so hungry that’s why the food did not taste great. The salad, looks like coleslaw and the dessert is vanilla ice cream. I like the apple sauce.

We should have eaten at Italianni’s instead.

Shih Tzu Cassie Gave Birth to Four Puppies

Can’t update my blog, have to be a midwife for a while assisting my pet giving birth to her new puppies yesterday at 5:30 am. We had her x-rayed at Animal Care Specialist to count the number of puppies that she has. From the x-ray it showed that she will have 5 puppies but the x-ray beam was not very clear because she was pregnant and they adjusted the rays. That was aroung 8:30 pm of December 30. The vet told us that she is ready to give birth anytime because one puppy was already in position in her cervix. We saw the xray. We went to our parents house to get a supply of newspaper and cardboard boxes. Irwin prepared the boxes for Cassie that night and Cassie was alredy looking for a place to give birth. She is almost ready, we hoped that she will not give birth that night, fortunately, she give birth the next morning. Irwin saw her edging herself at a corner already panting and having contractions.
WE placed her in the box and after a few minute with lights still out, she give birth to her first born. It was a female and it was very big and strong. I was excited seeing the new puppy, Irwin tied the umbilical cord with dental floss and tried to stimulate the puppy by rubbing it or letting Cassie wipe out the placenta and other stuff. The next baby came out after 7 minutes and the next two at an interval of 30 minutes. It was finished after an hour. we were very happy and tired and proud for our newest member of family. Thank God Cassie survived her first birthing, we really pray that Cassie will have enough milk to feed her babies.

Ok, I chanced to watch it again last night and it pissed me off again. They do not want to vote one of them out. Plastic, Show me someone who doesn’t want to win 2 million pesos. Maybe by voting someone out they will get less vote, I doubt that Ruben will be the winner, was he ever nominated by the housemate? We never know how many will vote for him, as for John and Will, when they were nominated with Don Geisler, they have more votes, so we will never know the popularity of Ruben. If he has a lot of supporters. And why would the housemates choose among themselves who will be the winner, are they going to spend money voting for each other? As for me, I go for Gabby dela Merced.

New Boyfriend for New Year

I have a lot of single friends and the coming new years marks another year for them without a partner. I just wrote a very long letter to a friend, coaxing her to find one. I told another friend to start loosing weight and another to start wearing make-up. These friends are in their 30’s already. The more they are getting worried.

I have a very pretty picture in my friendster account, and that is not my picture. There are a lot of men adding me as friends because they thought that I was the one in the picture. I forwarded these profile to my friend and she don’t like them because they only added me as a friend because they thought I was pretty.

I was telling Irwin that men naturally want a pretty girl, INITIALLY. Because they are really attracted to the face, the body, all physical. Science has proven this in several studies and this was even theorized by Charles Darwin. So you cannot tamper with nature. This is the nature of man.

I know and I believe that I was attractive when I was YOUNGER, when my waistline is still 24 inches and I can wear pretty clothes and I know I attracted some guys not just Irwin. Plus my added self-confidence. hehe.

Women in contrast are attracted to power and the ability to provide for the offspring, this too is according to Darwin’s theory. So there are pretty girls with not-so-pretty boys but rich pockets. And this could be one of the reason why there are less women marrying. They cannot find a man who can provide for them, because some of these women are already successful and you still have to surpass their accomplishment for you to be attracted to them, but if you are already OLD, you cannot be choosy!

I told my friend to get pregnant with a man but she doesn’t like a baby she wants a man!

So for singles men out there if you can read this blog, I am looking for a lot of boyfriends for a lot of girl friends. This is a wanted ad for a boyfriend. period.

Do You Want to Die?

I want to die a natural death, getting old. My husband’s grandmother is 87 years old with no pain in her body and yesterday, she let me smell her Creamsilk fragrant hair that has reached her knee. She was a widow at 30 and was a pregnant widow. She has lived 57 years with her only daughter who has never married and takes care of her, our Ninang Baby. So devoted and caring.

Now, on the topic of dying. How do I start writing this? I suddenly wrote about dying because I checked a website on dying and saw to my horror that a lot of people are accessing it. Why do people want to die, why would they search in the internet on ways to die? Gracious! If only their relatives or their loved ones could see what they have been accessing. They have a suicide attempt or a death wish. Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! So many lonely people. So isolated. This season of Christmas and New Year it does not only bring cheers to a lot of people but loneliness too.

Some dread the arrival of their birthdays, or special occasions because of fear that no one will greet them or no one will share it with them. Some people would judge them pathetic but let’s us understand these people. Behind their facade that everything is alright they are miserable.

Just like the Beatles Song, All the lonely people, where do they all come from?
I can be alone but I am not lonely, you can be with a lot of people but you are lonely. I just hope that everyone will have a Lonely-Free New Year and everyone will have someone to share the holidays. People of the world, have faith, have love, make no room for loneliness.

Wrong Medicine-Viagra

I remember a funny incident when I was buying an expectorant from a drug store, and cannot remember the name of the drug and I thought of “Sildenafil”, they keep on telling me Sumaped, or Sumapen. They asked me to buy an antibiotic and a cough drop, so I thought the Sumaped is the cough drop and I will buy a generic antibiotic, it turned out that the right name is Sumapen and it is the antibiotic.
I did not buy any cough drop, I was tempted to buy “Sildenafil” and ask the pharmacist but didn’t. When I got home, I told them that I did not buy any expectorant and that the right name was not Sumaped but Sildenafil, I was so proud about my knowledge on medicine that I searched on the internet for the Sildenafil. Hahaha!

Sildenafil turned out to be the generic name for Viagra. Woohoo! Buti na lang pala, hindi ko tinanong sa pharmacist, ang yabang ko pa kay Irwin, kala ko tama ako, nakakahiya naman for me to buy a Viagra. Hehehe.

Our ninong is a doctor from the States and he always has a Viagra and give it to his friends to sell, aba mahal din ata yun noh. Effective ba talaga yun??
